Rinchin Wangmu Mosobi becomes first Arunachalee woman to get Phd in electrical engineering

NIRJULI, Aug 17: The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) has awarded Rinchin Wangmu Mosobi a doctorate degree in electrical engineering, which makes her the only woman in Arunachal to have achieved the feat.
Dr Mosobi did her research on ‘Power quality analysis of integrated renewable energy systems’ under the supervision of Prof S Gao of the NERIST’s engineering department.
The research looked at supplying electrical power to communities residing in remote and hilly terrains, far from the grid supply. However, it may not be able to augment bulk power requirements of the utility grid. Therefore, by implementing appropriate power electronic devices, integration of these renewable energy sources with low voltage distribution grid is seen as a viable option.
Dr Mosobi is the daughter of IPS officer SN Mosobi and Nawang Choden, an employee of the health department.
She did her bachelors and masters from the NERIST.
