EMCHI, Aug 20: The 12th battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) based here in Papum Pare district on Tuesday staged a demonstration on maintaining safety and security during times of emergency and disaster.
Personnel of the battalion also demonstrated rescue and relief measures provided to victims during emergencies. The demonstration was staged specifically for the students of the NIT.
12 Bn NDRF Second-in-Command Arun Deogam and Deputy Commandant PN Singh, along with professors of the NIT, were also present on the occasion.
“Such demonstrations are necessary for the public as everyone needs to know about safety and security, so that they remain safe and secure,” Deogam said.
Officers and officials of the NDRF explained ways and means to remain safe and secure during times of disaster.
The event featured demonstrations on collapse of structure search-and-rescue, chemical biological radiological nuclear rescue, canine search, and such.
