ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Members of the state Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) distributed relief materials to the flood-affected people of Kotalgusi and Pisoli Sobansiri in Biswanath district of Assam on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters, state BJYM president Taring Tiri said floods had badly affected the area a couple of months ago.
“Many lost their houses, properties, and agriculture fields which were the only sources of livelihood for them,” he said.
Biswanath district BJP president Pareshbor Kakoti thanked the Arunachal BJYM for the gesture and said the people of Arunachal have been always helpful during such natural calamities in Assam.
“We have always been good neighbours, and such inventiveness of relief programme, donation for the flood affected people, and cultural exchange programmes by the other side always encourage us,” he said.
