YUPIA, Aug 23: MLA Nyamar Karbak on Friday launched a mobile-based application, ‘Trip to Anywhere’, in a function held at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) here in Papum Pare district.
The app, conceived and developed by NIT graduates Amit Kumar Choudhary and Brijesh Patel, intends to provide online Tata Sumo and Xylo taxi services for various locations in the state.
Commending the duo, Karbak advised them to “conduct further market analysis for the same.”
Narrating the story of Sony Corp founders Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita, the MLA said almost all the successful businesses of today had been conceived as startups and had very modest beginnings.
“But over the years, due to hard work, perseverance and dedication, they are where they are now,” he said.
The MLA also advised the NIT students to inculcate the value of “giving back to your alma mater.”
Assuring the premier institute of his constant support, Karbak invited the NIT to conduct workshops, field trips and projects in his assembly constituency, Liromoba, in West Siang district.
NIT Director Prof P Mahanta, Dean Rajen Pudur, faculty members and students were present during the launch ceremony.
