East Siang gets centralized MDM kitchens for 21 schools

PASIGHAT, Aug 30: Three centralised midday meal (MDM) kitchens for 21 schools in East Siang have been opened.
MLA Kaling Moyong, Food Commission Member Nanom Jamoh and East Siang DC Kinny Singh on Friday inaugurated the three centralized MDM kitchens at the D Ering, Jarkong, and town upper primary schools here, respectively.
This was followed by flagging-off of three MDM delivery vans.
Addressing the students and teachers at the town upper primary school, Moyong lauded the DC “for her innovative idea which would save time and provide timely lunch to the students of 21 schools from these kitchens.”
The MLA asked the teachers to apply their best teaching skills while nurturing the students, and advised the students to be punctual and hardworking to score good marks.
He also commended the DDSE and the urban development department for maintaining quality and ensuring timely completion of the kitchen buildings.
Jamoh advised the school authorities to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the schools, while Singh on her part said “students must be attentive in studies and obedient.”
The DC gave assurance that the district administration would “create positive learning environment in schools, which is extremely important for students and teachers.” (DIPRO)
