ITANAGAR, Aug 30: The state is likely to face acute power shortage due to a proposed shutdown of the Palatana power plant on 1 September, from 9 am to 9 pm, and subsequent “zero power generation from the Pare and Ranganadi hydroelectric projects from midnight till 5:30 am, and 9:45 am to 2:30 pm daily, leading to a power supply deficit of around 35 mw during the period,” according to a release from the power department.
Advising all the power distribution divisions to reduce the connected load by 30 percent during the period, “till further order,” the department appealed to the consumers to bear with the inconvenience.
