TAWANG, Sep 3: A meeting on ‘block convergence action plan under the Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment (POSHAN) Abhiyan’ was held here on Tuesday.
The POSHAN Abhiyan is aimed at attaining a malnutrition-free India by 2022.
Addressing the HoDs of various departments, DC Sang Phuntsok said the convergence mission mainly focuses on child health by reducing under-nutrition among children.
“The government is working on providing better health to its citizens, and all the executing agencies should take this on a missionary mode. There should be no stone unturned to achieve maximum benefits of this scheme,” he said.
Tawang CDPO Dondup Pema made a PowerPoint presentation on the “aim, purpose, convergence with other programmes, key themes, and block level convergence action plan under Kyidphel and Tawang blocks, and activities to be taken up by the departments,” according to the DIPRO.
The CDPO also spoke about “jan andolan activities for Poshan Maah, its scheduled activities, and suggested activities,” the DIPRO added.
The Rashtriya Poshan Maah is being celebrated from 1 to 30 September. (DIPRO)
