KANUBARI, Sep 3: Forty farmers from Hasse Russa village here in Longding district participated in a training programme on ‘Importance and impact of system of rice intensification on higher production of food grains’ organised by the KVK on Tuesday.
KVK Head (in-charge) Dr A Kirankumar Singh, who imparted the training, dwelt on the usefulness of rice intensification technology to help farmers produce crops “with less water and less seeds in a shorter time.”
“With the adoption of the system of rice intensification in a proper way, the farmers will be able to double the production of their rice crops with the use of improved varieties,” Dr Singh said.
He also stressed on the importance of water conservation, and suggested to the farmers to use water economically.
“We can take up water conservation methods which are locally suitable, with locally available materials,” he said.
Animal science specialist Dr Tilling Tayo also spoke.
