ANINI, Sep 11: The Department of Disaster Management conducted an awareness programme on disaster management and preparedness at the Panchayat hall here in Dibang Valley district on Wednesday.
The program included awareness and preparedness training on natural and man-made disasters, like earthquake, fire accident, flood, landslide, etc.
DC S Singhpho told participants that “knowledge is empowerment in times of disaster” and assured that such awareness programmes will be provided in all the villages during the Sarkar Aaapke Dwar programmes.
The programme included presentations and lectures on first aid and safety tips on injuries sustained during fire accidents, landslides and earthquakes by the district medical officer.
The superintendent of police also gave fire safety tips, followed by a fire drill and exercises by the Fire Service Department. (DIPRO)
