CHANGLANG, Sep 16: The Changlang battalion of the 25 Sector Assam Rifles (AR) on Monday hosted a meeting with the civil bodies of various villages of the district to strengthen the camaraderie and bond between the AR and the local communities.
Over 10 GBs and several members of rural administration bodies participated in the meeting, which was chaired by 9 AR Commandant, Col Surrender Kumar.
The participants discussed issues such as the presence of insurgents, the menace of drug abuse, education avenues, and healthcare requirements.
Col Kumar apprised the participants of the activities carried out by the AR battalion for the villagers’ benefit, such as construction works, organising medical camps, and facilitating education and employment opportunities.
The participants urged the AR to conduct more such meetings to enable free discussions on issues. (DIPRO)
