ITANAGAR, Sep 17: The state BJP on Tuesday celebrated the 69th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the state with great fanfare.
Addressing the gathering at the Donyi-Polo School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired in Chimpu, state BJP president Tapir Gao said “it is a day to rejoice our strength by helping people who are in need.”
Gao said the day was celebrated as ‘Seva Saptah’, involving a large number of party workers. “It is the day to take a pledge for the cause of nation-building,’ he said.
Gao, who is also the Arunachal East MP, assured full support of the state government and from his own end for development of the school’s infrastructure. He interacted with the students and teachers, and distributed fruits and sweets to the children.
Earlier, Gao along with other state BJP leaders and a host of dignitaries visited the RK Mission Hospital, distributed fruits to the patients, and participated in a tree plantation programme in the hospital’s premises.
