ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Governor BD Mishra has extended his warm greetings to the people of the state on the festive occasion of Chindang festival.
He was hopeful that the festivity will usher-in happiness and prosperity in the community and in the state.
“Festivals are the part and parcel of socio-cultural life of the people. It is the manifestation of every tribe’s culture and tradition. In the same line, Chindang festival and its rituals exhibit the rich cultural heritage of the Sajalong tribe,” the governor said in a message Monday evening.
He wished the Sajalong community continues to preserve and promote their treasured age-old cultural heritage through the celebrations.
