Gov, CM chair meeting to review Miao-Vijoynagar road project

ITANAGAR, Oct 17: Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday co-chaired a high-level meeting at the Raj Bhavan here to finalize the construction of the Miao-Vijoynagar road in Changlang district.
It was decided during the meeting, which was also attended by RWD Minister Honchun Ngandam, UD Minister and Miao-Vijoynagar MLA Kamlung Mosang, and BRO (East) Additional Director General (ADG) PKH Singh, among others, that the new alignments would be executed to cover maximum number of habitats, besides constructing Bailey bridges with 40 R (resistance) classification.
The governor said concerted efforts must be made to connect the people of the remote
areas with the mainland at the earliest, in the interest of national security and the welfare of the people.
He also stressed on providing essential commodities to the people of such areas at the prevailing price levels.
Khandu expressed gratitude to the governor for playing a proactive role in addressing the challenges faced by the people in the distant areas of the state, and said his government is determined to complete the strategic Miao-Vijoynagar road as soon as possible.
The BRO ADG made a PowerPoint presentation on the recent reconnaissance of the proposed new alignment of the road.
Senior officers from the state administration, the RWD, the civil supplies department, the APEDA, and the BSNL also participated in the discussion. (Raj Bhavan)
