Workshop on renewable energy held

YUPIA, Oct 18: A five-day workshop on ‘Renewable energy as future energy (REFE-II)’ concluded at the temporary campus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) here in Papum Pare district on Friday.
Addressing the participants from various universities, the NIT’s Academic Dean, Dr Rajen Pudur, said, “Mini- and micro-hydropower plants are the only solution for remote area electrification in Arunachal Pradesh.”
Several academicians and field experts from the NERIST and the NEEPCO delivered lectures and imparted hands-on training to the participants in research skills in the field of renewable energy.
The workshop was attended by over 50 participants from academia and industries.
The resource persons included NIT Director Prof P Mahanta, Prof S Gao, Dr AK Parida from the NERIST, NEEPCO Deputy GM Taniya Taji, Prof Isha TB, and Dr A Banerjee from the NIT.
The NIT director gave away certificates to the participants during the valedictory function.
