LUMLA, Oct 21: The BJP’s Lumla mandal organized a padyatra (awareness walk) from Mangnam village to the party’s office in Manpat market here in Tawang district on Sunday to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Local MLA Jambey Tashi flagged off the march, in which he himself participated, alongside mandal president Sonam Topgey, former ZPM Lobsang Younten, members of the BJP’s Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha, and others.
Later, in a meeting at the party’s office, the MLA highlighted Gandhi’s values and principles. Underlining the importance of cleanliness, he called for creating awareness to take the concept of cleanliness to the grassroots level. (Mon Tawang Vigilance)
