CHIMPU, Oct 23: Gohpur Sporting Club (GSC) has entered the final of the 25thVishwakarma Running Trophy Football Tournament beating Chimpu FC 3-2 in the first semifinal played at KV No 2 playground here on Wednesday.
Gohpur SC took the lead three minutes into the play with goal from John Riang. Tatung Ningkesh doubled the score in the17th minute. They were leading Chimpu FC 2-0 at halftime.
Chimpu FC reduced the margin to 1-2 through a self goal by the opponent’s goal-Keeper.
Gohpur SC again extended the lead, scoring in the 40th minutes. Taw Akash scored the goal from a powerful long-range free-kick shot (3-1).
Chimpu FC scored their second goal in the dying minutes through Karling Fafa.
Later, Sartam Raja of Gohpur SC was declared ‘man of the match’.
The second semifinal will be played between Manipuri FC and Champion FC on Thursday.
