BHALUKPONG, Oct 23:The three days workshop on Waste Management under Swachhata Hi Seva programme concluded here in West Kameng on Wednesday. The programme focused on creating awareness and capacity building, surveying current waste management practices, hands-on training on up-cycling of waste plastic, paper, glass and cardboard, exploring possibilities for livelihood creation for unemployed youths, management of e-waste and cleanliness cum graffiti art campaign for the beautification of public places.
Wastes such as plastic, cardboard, glass and discarded tires and tubes were given a new lease of life by the participants. The resource persons from Northeast Waste Collective (NWC) and Planet Green imparted training to the participants in the workshop which was jointly organized by the Bhalukpong local administration in collaboration with the Circle Tourism office and Bomdila PHED division.
