DAPORIJO, Oct 28: The Late Maji Marging Memorial Football Tournament-2019 got underway here last Friday, in the presence of local MLA Taniya Soki and Upper Subansiri SP Taru Gusar.
Twenty teams are participating in the tourney, which is being organized in memory of the former general secretary of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union.
In his address the MLA urged youths to focus on their health, and to work towards the development of the area. He advised the players to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Soki also stressed the need for infrastructure development for games and sports in the area.
The SP, Arunachal Law Students’ Union president Yuram Tamin, and senior student leader PL Murtem also spoke.
