Meeting held on celebration of Yomgo River Festival

AALO, Nov 9: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the West Siang deputy commissioner here on Friday last, to discuss issues pertaining to celebration of Yomgo River Festival.
During the meeting, which was attended by various heads of departments, the DC said that venue of the festival has to be decided first as construction of log and bamboo bridge over Yomgo River not only incur cost involvement but poses security threat to accommodate thousands of people that come and go to the venue.
“The annual event should be able to showcase rich values of culture, practices, art and handicraft from tourism perspective and events have to be managed by professional event manager to make it better year by year. Separate committees should be constituted to for every event and a core committee will supervise those constituted committees for successful celebration,” the DC said.
