DAPORIJO, Nov 11: Holigan Football Club won the Maji Marging Memorial Football Tournament, defeating Synyik Brothers in the final in penalty shootout here in Upper Subansiri district on Sunday.
The teams were locked 1-1 at the end of the full-time.
The winning team was awarded cash prize of Rs 1 lakh with the trophy, while the runner-up team was given Rs 50,000 and a trophy.
Twenty teams participated in the tournament.
AAPSU president Hawa Bagang, who witnessed the final match, spoke on the importance of playing sports for physical and mental development.
