WAK, Nov 12: The lower primary school (LPS) here in West Siang district is celebrating its golden jubilee year with a four-day event, which started on 11 November.
Attending the inaugural function, Lekang MLA Jummum Ete Deori said, “It is always a special feeling to see a school completing 50 years of arduous journey as a temple of primary learning.”
She lauded the teachers, the villagers, and the school’s alumni who contributed to the growth of the school.
JD (U) general secretary Topin Ete and the school’s Headmistress, Hengam Ete Bagra, informed that the LPS is one of the oldest schools to cater primary education in Paktu Ete Bango, and that it is essential for the alumni of the school, the teachers manning it now, the school management committee, and the public to ensure its growth in the days to come.
Educationalist and former MLA Boken Ete congratulated the people of Bene-Wak on the grand celebration, while the organizing secretary of the event, Kido Ete, spoke on the journey of the school since its inception.
The school is organizing various games and sports, literary and felicitation events to mark the occasion. (DIPRO)
