ROING, Nov 13: Education Minister Taba Tedir assured to post PGTs at GHSS and teachers at DIET here in Lower Dibang Valley district.
Tedir, who is currently on a district tour, inspected various educational institutions in Lower Dibang Valley district on Wednesday.
He inspected the temporary and permanent sites of the Jomin Tayeng Model Degree College at Jia, Govt. Polytechnic, the GHSS, the DIET, the Govt. Model Residential School, Mayu and interacted with the students and teachers.
The minister also assured to take up the issue of a separate campus for the Govt. Model Residential School, Mayu.
Addressing the students and public at the Govt. Secondary School, Meka during the 6th Jomin Tayeng Memorial Academic Awards 2019, he called for community participation in the upkeep of government schools without waiting for the government’s action.
He cited the example of East Siang district, where the alumni associations of various schools have adopted their alma maters to renovate and extend school buildings.
While emphasizing the need for rationalization of teachers, Tedir advised the students to strive for academic towards excellence.
He informed them about the state government’s initiative of career counseling programmes for the students of class IX to XII, free coaching for NIT, UPSC examinations for the APST students, incentive of Rs2 lakhs to students clearing preliminary examinations and Rs3 lakhfor those clearing UPSC mains examination.
MLA Gum Tayeng, Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom, heads of departments, students and the public attended the programme. DIPRO
