DAPORIJO, Nov 19: The 4th Tadak Dulom Badminton Championship (men’s and women’s singles and doubles) began at Sinyik Hall here in Upper Subansiri district on Monday.
Around 57 players from different parts of the state are participating in the championship.
Attending the opening ceremony, Dumporijo MLA Rode Bui advised the players to take up sports sincerely and stay away from drugs and other antisocial activities.
The MLA also highlighted the contributions made by former minister, late Tadak Dulom, to the society in various fields.
Earlier, on 17 November, Bui visited the sites of various central and state government sponsored schemes being implemented in his constituency.
He asked the executing agencies and departments to ensure quality of work by conduction regular inspection. He also cautioned the contractors to strictly follow the guidelines, saying there would be no compromise on quality of work.
