RONO HILLS, Nov 21: Nyaton Kitnya, a PhD scholar from Rajiv Gandhi University’s (RGU) zoology department, was awarded for being the ‘best oral presenter’ in an international conference on ‘Recent advances in animal sciences 2019’, held at Pachhunga University College in Mizoram capital Aizawl from 6-8 November.
She presented her work on the topic, ‘Note on distribution and ecology of the Himalayan giant honey bee Apis laboriosa’ an important pollinator which plays a significant role in food security.
As many as 130 researchers from all over India participated in the conference.
RGU Joint Registrar (Academic & Conference), Dr David Pertin, commended Kitnya “for making the university proud,” and said “RGU students are in the right orientation and have the dedicated earnest towards achieving their research targets.”
