DUCHOK, Nov 22: The Dukam Welfare Society (DWS) has said it has resolved to protect the flora and fauna of its area in Upper Subansiri district. The decision was taken during a recent meeting of the organisation here.
The DWS also said it would preserve and protect the unique natural stone, known as ‘Lingpwnv’, which it said “symbolizes our ancestors’ identity.”
The members of the organisation will contribute funds for constructing a protection wall around the monument, which is located in Dupit village.
They further said they would not accept offers or gifts in any form from any of the chief guests during future programmes of the DWS.
Taliha MLA Nyato Rigia and DWS patron Nyai Rigia also attended the meeting.
