ITANAGAR, Nov 25: Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar reviewed the preparedness for the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2.0 during a meeting of the state steering committee for immunization here on Monday.
IMI 2.0, which is scheduled to be rolled out on 2 December, aims to achieve the target of “90 percent full immunization coverage” of children between 0 and 2 years of age, and pregnant women.
However, the CS asked the health & family welfare (HFW) department to “devise the entire immunization mechanism of the state so that the state is able to achieve 97 percent immunization.”
Kumar also urged other departments to coordinate with the HFW department in areas where their assistance is required.
To address local issues which remain a challenge in many parts of the state, the chief secretary stressed on using “robust communication strategies like FM radio channels, community radios, and mobile SMSes to spread the message of IMI 2.0 to the masses,” and suggested using local dialects in the messages.
Kumar also suggested that “reward in the form of cash or kind may be awarded to the best performing ANM with 100 percent IMI 2.0 coverage.”
IMI 2.0 will continue upto 2 March, 2020, in four rounds, in 18 identified districts of the state.
HFW Principal Secretary AC Verma, WCD Secretary Niharika Rai, IPR Secretary Himanshu Gupta, and others were present at the meeting. (CSO)
