ITANAGAR, Nov 26: Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) qualified for the final rounds of the 18th Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament (TTSLFT) from Zone 5 after winning their second match against Siang by a solitary goal in Yingkiong (Upper Siang) on Tuesday.
The all-important goal was scored by Andhoko Mito in the 27th minute. LDV had beaten Upper Siang 5-2 on Monday.
Siang will play their second match against Upper Siang on Wednesday. While a mere draw will be enough for Siang to book their berth in the final round, a win will only ensure Upper Siang their berth in the main draw.
In Zone 4, West Siang defeated Leparada 2-1 in the first match of the day played in Likabali. All the three goals came in the second half.
After playing out a goalless first half, both the teams were desperately looking for a breakthrough. However, it was West Siang’s Kengam Ete who finally broke the deadlock in the 51st minute and put his team in the lead. Karnya Doji scored the second goal a few seconds later.
The only goal for Leparada was scored by Rippak Riba in the 71st minute.
The second match, played between Lower Siang and Shi-Yomi, ended in a 1-1 draw. Rahul Saikia and G Hiba scored the goals for their teams Lower Siang and Sho-Yomi, respectively.
Two matches were played in Zone 6 in Tezu (Lohit), and the matches ended in draws.
While Lohit played out a 2-2 draw against Namsai, the match between Changlang and Dibang Valley ended in a 1-1 draw.
Phunkro Namchoom scored a brace for Namsai, while Jiroko Tayang and Enosh Mimi scored for Lohit. Jowlon Singpho and Gura Mena were the scorers for Changlang and Dibang Valley, respectively.
