GPDP schemes finalized

TATO, Dec 27: The Shi-Yomi district planning committee (DPC) finalized the district’s gram panchayat development plan (GPDP) schemes during a meeting chaired by DC Mito Dirchi on Friday.
The meeting was attended by, among others, HQ ADC Tuli Gangkak, Mechuka ADC Bairo Sorum, and members of the interim committees of the gram panchayats.
Earlier, the DC called for “viable and people-centric” schemes and exhorted all officers to work hard to ensure timely completion of all the schemes proposed in the gram sabhas.
District Panchayat Development Officer Gamtum Padu also spoke.
The Papum Pare DPC also approved the GPDP schemes for the district on Friday, during a meeting presided over by DC Pige Ligu. Doimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara, ADC Tabang Bodung, the chairpersons and member secretaries of the DPC, and HoDs also attended it.
The ADC stressed on “urgent appointment of frontline works by the line departments for better coordination among the various departments in scheme proposals and their implementation in the district.”
The MLA urged the DPC and the HoDs to “avoid overlapping in project scheme proposals.” He asked the officers to tour the villages to acquaint themselves with the ground realities to ensure effective monitoring of schemes’ implementation and to create awareness among the people about the government’s plans, policies and developmental agendas.
The DC in his address urged the stakeholders to “discourage overlapping and duplicates in scheme proposals.”
He asked the ADC to “make a brief note or write-up on the scheme proposals of the last five years pending approval and submit it to the MLA, so that he can take up the matter with the competent authorities or raise it in the assembly.”
Earlier, the chairpersons and member secretaries of the DPC made PowerPoint presentations on the scheme proposals. (DIPROs)
