RONO HILLS, Jan 6: Over 600 cadets from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the Northeast states are participating in the National Cadet Corp’s (NCC) national-level ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat-II (EBSB-II)’ camp at Rajiv Gandhi University here from 6 to 17 January.
The camp is being organised in the state by the 1st Arunachal Pradesh NCC battalion, under the aegis of the Tezpur NCC group. It aims to introduce the cadets to one another’s cultures, inculcate basic qualities of leadership, camaraderie and national integration, and make them responsible citizens of the country.
During the 12-day camp, the cadets will, among other things, undergo training in weapon handling, firing, map reading, field & battle craft, leadership, social awareness, social service, community development, and personality development.
Fifteen school and college teachers accompanying the cadets as associate NCC officers and caretaker officers, along with 30 Indian Army personnel will also participate in the camp, under the supervision of Tezpur NCC Group Commander, Brig KS Rao and 1 Arunachal Pradesh NCC Bn CO, Col RK Sharma.
