DIRANG, Jan 23: An awareness programme and a scientist-farmers interactive meeting on ‘Scientific feeding and management of highland animals’ was organized by the ICAR-National Research Centre (NRC) in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development and KrishiVigyan Kendra, Dirang on Thursday to mark the ICAR-NRC’s 31st foundation day.
The programme was attended by 160 livestock cum agriculture farmers from in and around Dirang.
Scientists cum resource persons from all the three organizations interacted with the farmers on different aspects on scientific feeding and management of livestock as well as on pest management in vegetables, soil health management, integrated fish farming and vermi-composting.
The programme was attended by senior scientist cum director in-charge, ICAR-NRCY Dr D Medhi, Senior Technical Officer ICAR-NRCY Dirang Dr Mokhtar Hussain, Subject Matter Specialist, KVK, West Kameng, Dirang Dr TK Misra, besides staff of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development and ICAR-NRC, Dirang.
