PASIGHAT, Feb 7: A three-day ‘Induction module training of health & wellness officers (HWO)’ from East Siang and Upper Siang districts, under the Ayushman Bharat mission, concluded at Baken Pertin General Hospital here in East Siang district on Friday.
Eighteen WHOs were trained by state-level trainers, including Dr Gomi Basar (nodal officer, NPCDCS, TRIHMS) in the second-batch training.
The training was aimed at providing an overview of the health & wellness centres (HWC) and comprehensive primary health care, and to clarify the specific roles and responsibilities of the HWOs and the primary health care team.
During the inaugural function on 5 February, DMO (in-charge) Dr T Talom urged the trainees to “imbibe the quality of all-rounder” while discharging their duties “in context to prevailing communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as maternal, child, adolescent and elderly care.”
