HAPOLI, Feb 11: A meeting of the Lower Subansiri District Level Bankers Committee and the agriculture department was organised by the lead district manager here on Tuesday to brief the stakeholders on the ‘kisan credit card (KCC) saturation drive’ to be organised at the bank branches in the district.
The special drive was launched by the union agriculture & farmers’ welfare ministry on 10 February and will continue upto 24 February ‘to saturate all eligible farmers of the country under KCC’.
Lower Subansiri NABARD DDM, MK Lowang, informed that the drive is aimed at “facilitating universal access to concessional institutional credit for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries with KCC in a mission mode with a view to ensure coverage of maximum number of such farmers during the 15-day special drive.”
The branches of all the banks have been asked to prepare lists of PM-KISAN beneficiaries who do not have KCC and share them with the government functionaries, GBs and ‘bank sakhis’ who will go out to motivate such farmers to come to the bank branches with copies of land records.
The NABARD has sought active involvement of the district administration and the agriculture department in issuing copies of land record documents to the beneficiaries “to ensure hassle-free sanctioning of KCC limit by the bank branches.” (DIPRO)
