NAMSAI, Feb 12: A campaign on Kisan Credit Card (KCC) saturation drive was launched at the ICAR, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) here in Namsai district on Wednesday, to provide access to concessional credit for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries from institutional sources.
During the KCC saturation drive, which began on 10 February and will continue till 24 February, all eligible PM-KISAN beneficiaries will be issued KCC to avail the benefit of agricultural credit from banks.
It was also informed that simplified format has been developed for issuing of KCC for the PM-KISAN beneficiaries wherein, they have to provide only the copy of the land record document and the crop sown, along with the filled-up format to the bank branch from where they are drawing the PM-KISAN benefit.
NABARD DDM Kamal Roy informed that the drive is aimed at facilitating universal access to concessional institutional credit for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries with KCC in a mission mode to ensure coverage of maximum number of such farmers during the 15-day special drive.
In the meeting, the branches of all the banks have also been asked to prepare lists of PM-KISAN beneficiaries who do not have KCC and share them with the government functionaries, GBs and ‘bank sakhis’ who will go out to motivate such farmers to come to the bank branches with copies of land records.
Similar campaigns on KCC saturation drive were also launched at Seppa in East Kameng district and Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district the same day.
