ZIRO, Feb 26: A five days NABARD-sponsored self help group (SHG)-bank linkage programme was organized at Hong, Tajang, Sibe, Bamin Michi and Hija villages by the Old Ziro branch of the Arunachal Pradesh State Co-operative Apex Bank Ltd in coordination with ArSRLM from 19 to 26 February in Lower Subansiri district.
The SHG-bank linkage programme is an initiative of the NABARD to provide banking services to weaker and unorganized sectors.
The programme was aimed to empower the SHGs by giving them information about bank linkage, operation of loan accounts (KCC and term loan), prompt repayment concept for availing interest rebate KCC loan and other available supports from financial institutions to SHGs.
During the week-long programme, NABARD DDM MK Lowang explained the concept of SHG-bank linkage programme and sensitised the SHG members about various promotional and developmental programmes of NABARD, like MEDP, LEDP, FPO etc and flagship programmes of the state government.
He also informed about the ongoing special drive to facilitate universal access to concessional institutional credit for all PM-Kisan beneficiaries with Kisan Credit Card, with a view to ensure coverage of maximum number of such farmers.
SBI Lead District Manager RK Brahma took a session on MSME and offerings under the MUDRA loan to promote entrepreneurship among the aspiring youth.
Apex Bank Branch Manager Mudo Tatung highlighted the features and benefits of social security schemes, such as Pradhan Mantri Jan-dhanYojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana.
The programme was conducted through the branch managers of Apex Bank and Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, Ziro.
Besides the branch officials and members of SHGs, representatives of ArSRLM and SBI lead district Manager also participated in the programme.
