TAWANG, Feb 28: A five-day in-service training programme for the teachers of Tawang block got underway at the government town secondary school here on Friday.
The training is being imparted under the union HRD ministry’s National Initiative for School Head Training and Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA). Similar training had earlier been imparted to the teachers of Jemithang-Duitongkhar block and Lungla block in January and February, respectively.
Addressing the participants, DDSE Hridhar Phuntso said that “in order to bring quality education, we as teachers should be sincere and responsible towards our duty, but at the same time we need support from parents and society.”
Stressing on being committed to one’s duty, he said “only bookish knowledge is not enough to make a better nation; we have to give importance on moral education too.”
The DDSE also underscored the need to “fill the gap of relation between parents, teachers and students.”
Resource person B Tiwari informed the teachers about “the importance, aims and objectives of the training.” (DIPRO)
