KHONSA, Mar 3: A day after the arrest of extortionist Md Karim Khan alias Kalu, the Khonsa police on Tuesday arrested two accomplices of Kalu, for allegedly running an extortion racket for many days in Khonsa township and villages in Tirap district.
One of the arrested accused, Md Ibrahim Ali alias Imran Ali, 24, of Assam’s Lakhimpur area was residing near Town Middle School, Khonsa, while another accused Juphan Ketok, 32, is from Kheti, village under Khonsa police station.
Tirap SP Kardak Riba praised the police team headed by OC W Kamhua and public of Tirap district for extending constant cooperation in nabbing extortionists and drugs peddler.
The SP appealed to the people of Khonsa Township in particular and people of Tirap district as a whole for more cooperation in the days to come to restore peace in the region. (DIPRO)
