ITANAGAR, Mar 7: The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) has welcomed the state government’s first ever child budget.
“Such move by the state government is praiseworthy and shall have a great impact on the overall development and growth of the future generation,” the APWWS stated in a release on Saturday, and expressed hope that the implementing authorities would ensure that the women- and child-related budget of 2020-21 would reach the target groups.
It expressed satisfaction that this year too the state government has incorporated some of the APWWS’ suggestions, such as for a separate child budget, child centres, crèches’ in workplaces, reservation for women in the agriculture sector, and 33 percent reservation for women in the skill development sector, saying “it is a way forward to empower the woman economically.”
