Communicative English course underway

TEZU, Mar 8: Fifty final semester students from various disciplines of Indira Gandhi Government College (IGGC) are participating in a 19-day ‘communicative English course’ which got underway at the college here in Lohit district on 3 March.
The emphasis of the course, being conducted by the British Council in collaboration with the state’s higher & technical education department, will be on overall language and skill development, including focus on reading, writing, listening and speaking.
IGGC Principal, Dr Kangki Megu, expressed optimism that the programme would help in “improving the language proficiency in English language and thereby enhance the chance of placement and employability of the students in various sectors through soft skill development.”
The programme is being conducted in accordance to the MoU between the state government and the British Council.
