PASIGHAT, Mar 31: East Siang DC Kinny Singh has advised all those who are in home quarantine to maintain the [quarantine] guidelines.
She also advised people who have recently returned home from abroad to go into self-isolation and avoid contact with others for a minimum of 14 days.
Briefing media persons here on Tuesday, Singh said the entire district is under complete lockdown and the people have been asked to stay indoors.
“The district administration has taken steps to ensure smooth supply of food and essential commodities to the people,” she said, and requested the district’s residents to contact the nearest notified ration shop or agent to get their requirements home-delivered.
“Apart from contact tracing, scanning of passengers are also being carried out,” the DC said.
She also gave assurance that the migrant labourers stranded in the district would be provided with food and shelter during the lockdown period.
