ITANAGAR, Apr 2: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) and the All Nyishi Youth Association have opposed any move to relocate the Covid-19 positive patient detected in Lohit HQ Tezu to TRIHMS, and sought “immediate deportation of suspected Covid-19 non-APSTs to their native place.”
In representations to the chief minister, both organizations said that the person should not be kept in the hospital in Tezu either but sent to some treatment centre outside the state.
Claiming that shifting the patient to TRIHMS would spread the virus to the medical staff and the public, the ANSU said that “the patient is a non-APST and someone from outside bringing the dreaded virus to our doorstep is not welcome.”
It urged the CM to immediately trace all non-APST persons suspected of carrying Covid-19 and send them to their native places within a day or two.
The union also advised the residents of the capital complex to stop eating meat, imported vegetables and fruits for some period as a precaution.
