Gov apprises president of Covid-19 situation in state

ITANAGAR, Apr 3: Governor BD Mishra on Friday attended a video conference with President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu regarding the spread of Covid-19 in the state.
Informing that, as on date, there is one positive case of Covid-19 in the state – who is a returnee from Tablighi Jamaat Markaz in Delhi – Mishra briefed the president on the initiatives taken by the state government, preparation of the medical facilities, setting up of control rooms, and assistance to the needy.
He also informed the president about the contributions made by NGOs, the Red Cross, student unions, Yuva Morcha volunteers, the army, and social organizations.
The governor informed that he along with Chief Minister Pema Khandu is in regular touch with the district administrations, the police and the people. He also expressed appreciation for the medical officers, nurses, paramedics and police personnel of the state for their sincerity and dedication to duty.
Mishra informed the president that, as on date, there is no scarcity of essential food items in the state. (Raj Bhavan)
