RUKSIN, Apr 5: People remained indoors and no vehicle, except those transporting essential commodities, was seen plying on the second day of the 48-hour curfew in Ruksin subdivision of East Siang district.
Although the curfew is scheduled to end at 5 am on Monday, ADC Kabit Apang said Section 144 of the CrPC may be reimposed.
He said he has requested the district administrations of Siang, Upper Siang, West Siang and Shi-Yomi to keep sufficient food and essential commodities in stock as curfew of a longer duration may be imposed here after assessing the situation.
The ADC said entry of vehicles from Assam “has every potential to transmit Covid-19 to Arunachal.”
“Owing to the situation, it is necessary to seal the state boundary to stop the movement of all types of vehicles across the state boundary,” he said.
