‘Reconsider decision to transfer doctor’

ITANAGAR, Apr 8: The Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district unit of the Adi Ba:ne Kebang and the Idu Mishmi Cultural and Literary Society have in a joint representation to the health minister requested him to immediately review the government’s order to transfer the lone medicine specialist at the district hospital in Roing to the zonal general hospital in Lohit HQ Tezu.
“The district medical officer has recently released the lone medicine specialist of LDV district hospital, Dr Aniyang Modi, to join the zonal hospital at Tezu. We do understand the seriousness of the Covid-19 pandemic and appreciate the state government’s endeavour to fight the disease, but we fail to understand why the lone medicine specialist of our district is transferred to Tezu when there are already sufficient number of medicine specialists available at Itanagar and BPGH Pasighat,” the organizations said.
“People of LDV are going to suffer in case of any emergency in the absence of the doctor and the government will be held responsible for this,” they said, and appealed to the minister to reconsider the decision in the interest of the people of LDV.
