AALO, May 3: Industries Minister Tumke Bagra inaugurated the four-bedded intensive care unit (ICU) at the general hospital (GH) here in West Siang district on Sunday.
The decision to equip the general hospitals of the state with ICUs was taken during a cabinet meeting held to review the health scenario of the state, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, said Bagra.
He said efforts would be made to run the ICU smoothly by posting medicine specialists and expert technicians.
“It is important to make it functional as patients from neighbouring districts will also come to avail the facility here,” Bagra said.
West Siang DC Swetika Sachan said the health facility in the GH will cater to critically ill patients requiring ICU admission.
DMO Dr Moli Riba and Medical Superintendent Dr Linya Lollen also spoke, and extended their gratitude to the rural works and the electrical departments for setting up the ICU on time. (DIPRO)
