Liquor shops allowed to open from Monday

ITANAGAR, May 3: Bonded warehouses, wholesale vendors and retail liquor shops across the state are allowed to operate from 4 May, as per a circular issued by the tax, excise & narcotics commissioner to all deputy commissioners.
However, it does not include hotels, restaurant and bars.
All bonded warehouses, wholesale vendors and retail liquor shops will have to ensure minimum six feet distance between persons and also ensure that more than five persons are not present at one time at the establishment concerned.
The closing time of liquor shops on all permitted days will be as fixed by the respective deputy commissioners or 5 pm, whichever is earlier.
“The said establishments shall work with bare minimum staff and
mandatorily provide hand sanitizers to customers and staff,” the circular read.
It also said wearing of face cover or mask is compulsory for all.
Further, transportation of liquor consignment is also allowed as per the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Excise Rules, 1994.
“However, all concerned licensee shall comply with the SOPs, in addition to other guidelines issued by the ministry of home affairs,” it said.
