ITANAGAR, May 30: Torrential rain triggered flash flood reportedly damaged the properties of scores of families in Chandanagar area here.
Due to heavy rainfall on Friday night, Yagamsonallah had flooded and marooned scores of families, damaging their houses.
It is reported that the water swelled to danger levels owing to blockage at an under-construction culvert along National Highway 415 at Chandanagar.
The course of river reportedly diverted to the colony and submerged most of the residences at mid night. The district administration has meanwhile, assessed the damage and loss of properties in the flood.
Local MLA Techi Kaso reached out to the affected families by distributing relief materials.
