ITANAGAR, Jul 25: Governor BD Mishra has greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Kargil Diwas.
Kargil Diwas marks the success of ‘Operation Vijay’, launched by the Indian armed forces in 1999 against the Pakistani regulars and militia troops who, in violation of the Line of Control sanctity, had occupied Indian territory in Kargil.
In his message, the governor paid tributes to the gallant soldiers of India “who stood firm in their line of duty.”
He also conveyed greetings to the people of Arunachal, “who have always stood firm with the Indian armed forces.”
The governor expressed hope that the occasion would inspire patriotism, nationalism, “and the spirit to sacrifice for the defence of the nation, amongst our country men.” (Raj Bhavan)
