Apatani lyricist passes away

ITANAGAR, Oct 27: Founder member of the Popi SarmiƱ Society (PSS) and versatile Apatani lyricist, Radhe Tadu passed away late Monday night. A resident of Tajang village in Lower Subansiri district, Tadu leaves behind his wife, five daughters and a son.

Expressing shock at the premature demise of Tadu, the PSS in a condolence message said Tadu was a dedicated social worker, a cultural activist and a versatile lyricist with more than 50 popular Apatani songs to his credit.

Describing late Tadu as an asset of the state, the society said his premature demise has “created a void in the field of literature, songs and music of the state, particularly the Apatani community.”

It prayed to the almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul and for strength to the bereaved family to endure the irreparable loss.
