SEPPA, 7 May: The East Kameng Social Welfare & Cultural Organization (EKSWCO) on Friday announced that the golden jubilee Nyokum Yullo-2022 will be celebrated in two parts – the ritual and the festival – here in East Kameng district.
The organization also informed that the Kameng River Festival, which was last organized in 2016, would now be held in October 2022, keeping in view the Covid-19 situation.
The decisions were taken during a meeting held under the chairmanship of EKSWCO chairman Bharat Sonam here.
Nyokum Yullo-2022 will emphasize on local folksongs and dances, while indigenous games and sports will also be a part of the festival.
“There will be no Nyokum Yullo celebration in any part of the district in 2022, for which the EKSWCO chairman will issue a circular to ensure that no one celebrates the festival in any part of the district,” the organization said.
