DC denies allegation of lack of basic facilities at CCC

ITANAGAR, 12 May: Itanagar Capital Region DC Talo Potom denied the allegation of lack of basic facilities at the Covid care centre (CCC) in Lekhi.

The DC on Wednesday visited the CCC to take stock of the facilities available there after a Covid patient complained of lack of facilities at the centre.

Later, briefing the media persons, Potom said, “The allegations of unavailability of hot water for the patient is completely false as the complainant himself has taken the same electric kettle, which was given to him at CCC Lekhi, to DCHC, Midpu.”

The DC also informed that the particular person was shifted to DCHC Midpu after he developed health problems.

Potom said the district administration is “trying its best to keep the charges as low as possible.”

He also said all charges of that particular patient have been waived after a discussion with the DMO on humanitarian ground as he belongs to divyangjan category. The DC also informed that proper medical care is being provided to that patient.

Regarding the allegation of high room charges, the DC said the rate has already been reduced to Rs 300 per day. He said payments of the sanitary staffers are being managed from the amount collected as room charge.

Informing that the CCC at Lekhi can accommodate up to 1,200 patients, he advised Covid patients, who do not have proper home isolation facilities, to come forward and avail the facility at Lekhi CCC. (DIPRO)
